The second ship in the Coalition's Vault-Series of warship, the Accipiter-Class battleship is a fearsome sight to behold.
A battleship in the truest sense, and dwarfing their Armored Cruiser escorts, the Accipiter-Class is the mainstay of the Coalition's Navy at the start of the war. Significantly larger than the preceding Liberty-Class Battleship, the Accipiter will give even the Alliance's newest EVOVE series battlecruiser - the Legend-Class (to be designed) - a run for its money. Armed with a standard missile broadside that exceeds the Archangel-Class Dreadnought (albeit with the Coalition's Smaller Type 32 Standard Missile), the Accipiter's combat tactic centers around raw, brute saturation of enemy defenses in the face of superior EW and ECW. In addition - strong computer integration links heavily with its escorts, allowing for seamless coordination when using the smaller, much faster Armored Cruisers to sucker larger units into the Accipiter's large engagement envelope.
The Alliance Data file on the Accipiter ends with this warning to all captains. "Accipiter-Class Battleships mark the first vessel in the Coalition Navy that achieves - to a degree - parity with the equivalent Alliance Vessel. Captain's are advised to use extreme caution when engaging these warships and not count on powered missile envelope superiority or defensive capabilities."
In short. the Accipiter, is a predator.
